Hi friends!

This is Morgan, William, and Wendy. We are constructing this site and page together for our dad and friend, Dan McDonnel.

Beginning around September 7th, Dan began not feeling well. Things transpired rather quickly between blood tests, a cat scan, and a biopsy that determined our dad had a tumor in his abdomen area that was malignant. On Oct. 24th, Dan endured an 8-hour surgery that removed the tumor, removed his gall bladder, and reconnected his internal organs. He spent a week in the hospital and has since been recovering at home. (He is finally eating more normal food, but portion sizes are very very small). This past Tuesday, we learned the tumor/cancer was successfully removed and the items removed around the tumor have also come back benign. This was great news for everyone! The uncertain part is the type of cancer, Extrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma, can be considered an aggressive cancer, and the location of the tumor was not ideal. With the diagnosis, his Oncologist felt Dan's best option for fighting this type of cancer and to ensure a promising recovery is to begin six months of chemotherapy on December 5th to ensure all cancerous cells are eliminated and removed.

There are many side effects to his treatment....one of which being fatigue. After missing almost eight weeks of work thus far, the next six months may be sporadic at best for the opportunity to work.

We have been SO blessed by outreach, support, love and messages of how you may help Dan. Your support would assist with medical bills and other costs endured while he is doing treatments over the next six months.

We want to give our dad and friend the best opportunity possible to fight and focus on recovering from this cancer. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate your support, love, and prayers for Dan.
