Our ComEd brother, Samuel Wimberly
Donation protected
Samuel Wimberly has been considered family to our ComEd team for over 20 years. His dedication and loyalty to his team has been valued over the years. We are sadden to learn of the tragic events that occurred late December. Because we are family, his ComEd team wanted to start a Go Fund Me account to help assist with his financial situation, as he is expected to be off work for an extended amount of time. The goal is set at a $1.00, as any amount you wanted to give would be greatly appreciated. Samuel Wimberly is a father of four who has worked at ComEd since November 1999. He started in Meter Reading, then moved to SSG (System Service Group) then Stores (Store Room) and is currently in Substation Network High Rise. On December 30, 2022, he was shot multiple times in his car off 91st and Ashland. Occupants from a jeep fired more than 15 shots which resulted in two bullets in his arm and two in his head; which the two bullets in the head still remain as Neuro surgeons say it’s to dangerous to remove at this time. He was transported to the Hospital in serious condition. The incident has left him with many fractures to his face, a concussion, loss of hearing and a wired jaw that prevents him from speaking and eating. We are grateful to still have him with us. God bless all that are able to donate and all that can offer prayers to our brother in need.
