Hi Alamogordo HS Classmates!

One of our classmates needs our help. What started out as an ear and sinus infection in early January ended up as a major illness to our classmate Marisue Bond Alsobrook. After being diagnosed with an ear and sinus infection and being placed on antibiotics, Marisue suddenly lost the vision in her left eye. To make a long story short...the infection had progressed into the bones around her ear and her eye, resulting in a medical emergency for her in Alamogordo. She needed a higher level of care, but because all of the hospitals in NM and Texas were full (they called 45 hospitals), she was air transported to Oklahoma City. A team of four doctors met her when she arrived at Oklahoma University Medical Center, and she had surgery immediately. The removed her left eye and an infected bone near her ear resulting in some loss of hearing, as well as the sight in her left eye. She finally got back to Alamo several weeks later, but is needing a lot of follow-up care in Albuquerque to prepare her eye socket for a prothesis, as well as preventive care to save her other eye.

Marisue does not have reliable transportation and needs to rent a car for every trip. She has already made one trip and has another appointment on March 1st. Between the car rental and the gas, it will run approximately $250 per trip. If you can assist in any way by helping to fund all or part of a trip...it would be greatly appreciated.
