Het Nijmeegs Studentenkoor Alphons Diepenbrock, heeft het financieel moeilijk door recente bezuinigingen op het onderwijsbudget van de Nederlandse overheid.

Als studentenkoor zijn we afhankelijk van externe financiering om essentiële kosten te dekken, zoals de salarissen van onze dirigent en pianist, bladmuziek en concert voorbereidingen. Door deze bezuinigingen komt ons voortbestaan in gevaar, en daarom vragen we om u steun om het koor in leven te houden.

Hieronder ziet u een overzicht van hoe donaties ons helpen:

60€ helpt ons bij de aanschaf van bladmuziek

75€ bekostigt een half uur extra repetitietijd

280€ dekt de kosten van een volledige extra repetitie

Deze bedragen zijn slechts voorbeelden van hoe donaties bijdragen aan ons koor. Elke bijdrage, groot of klein, helpt ons om te blijven repeteren, optreden en onze passie voor koormuziek te delen. Het totaalbedrag van alle donaties samen maakt al snel een groot verschil.

Sinds we ons bewust zijn van onze financiële uitdagingen, hebben we hard gewerkt om ook andere stappen te nemen om kosten te besparen en tegelijkertijd onze inkomsten te verhogen. Om ervoor te zorgen dat we nog steeds naar een concert toe konden werken, hebben we de moeilijke beslissing genomen om onze repetitie- en concertperiode in te korten. Hoewel we ook de bijdragen van de zangers en de ticketprijzen hebben verhoogd om de stijgende kosten te compenseren, zullen we deze maatregel de komende jaren niet herhalen.

Onze begroting is sterk afhankelijk van jaarlijkse subsidies, met name van de gemeente Nijmegen en Student Life and International Mobility (SLIM). Helaas ontvingen we van SLIM maar de helft van wat we hadden verwacht, waardoor er een groot tekort ontstond. Met de voortdurende bezuinigingen op het onderwijs wordt het steeds moeilijker om aan financiering te komen.

Vastbesloten om ons geliefde koor in leven te houden, hebben we de Acquisitiecommissie ('AcquisiCie') opgericht om sponsoren te zoeken, nieuwe subsidies te onderzoeken en extra concerten te organiseren. Dankzij een subsidie van Cultuurfonds kunnen we volop repeteren voor ons zomerconcert. De start van het volgende academische jaar (september) zal echter financieel kritiek zijn. Ons voortbestaan hangt af van de gulheid van donateurs, sponsors en vrienden.

Terwijl we ons voorbereiden op ons winterconcert van 2025, zullen we meer projectspecifieke subsidies aanvragen en we hebben advies ingewonnen om onze aanvragen te versterken. Maar we hebben nog steeds dringend jouw hulp nodig.

Our beloved choir, Nijmeegs Studentenkoor Alphons Diepenbrock, is facing financial difficulties due to recent cuts in the Dutch governmental education budget.

As a student choir, we depend on external funding to cover essential expenses such as salaries for our conductor and pianist, sheet music, and concert preparations. With these budget cuts, our ability to continue making music together is at risk. We are reaching out to you to help us keep our choir alive. These amounts are just examples of how donations contribute to our choir. Your donation, big or small, will go directly towards ensuring that we can continue rehearsing, performing, and sharing our passion for choral music. Every contribution makes a difference!

Since becoming aware of our financial challenges, we’ve been working hard to also take other steps to cut costs while increasing our income. To ensure we could still work toward a concert, we made the difficult decision to shorten our rehearsal and concert period. While we’ve also raised singer contributions and ticket prices to match rising costs, we won’t repeat this measure in future years.

Our budget relies heavily on annual subsidies, particularly from the municipality of Nijmegen and Student Life and International Mobility (SLIM). Unfortunately, we received only half of what we expected from SLIM, creating a major deficit. With ongoing education budget cuts, securing funding is becoming increasingly difficult.

Determined to keep our beloved choir alive, we formed the Acquisition Committee (‘AcquisiCie’) to seek sponsorships, research new subsidies, and organize extra concerts. Thanks to a subsidy from Cultuurfonds, we’re able to rehearse fully for our Summer Concert. However, the start of the next academic year (September) will be financially critical. Our survival depends on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and friends.

As we prepare for our 2025 Winter Concert, we’ll apply for more project-specific subsidies, and we’ve been gathering expert advice to strengthen our applications. However, we still urgently need your help.
