Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
My name is Charnell, from Los Angeles, California. Last year, I got married to my now husband Neil and moved to Jamaica, and it has been amongst the most beautiful blessings of my life. Neil and I then moved to Discovery Bay, St. Ann Parish almost a year ago, isolated from our family even here. God continued to be everything for us in spite of the separation. Soon, we stumbled upon this church, Higher Level International Ministry, one Saturday morning. The moment we walked in, the congregation wrapped their arms around us, praying for our needs, and giving of themselves for our betterment. Hurricane Melissa absolutely devastated our little town, and our church was hit hard. But, in spite of this, we have continued to come together to begin the rebuilding process. As our bishop said to us, "God breaks down before He builds." We believe our better days are ahead with a fortified, spiritually rich church for years to come.
We don't know when power will be restored, or when aid will come. But by faith, we are stepping out to begin even without the certainty.
Because of their support of us, in return, we want to surprise them with help from our family, friends, and friends of friends. (...Yes, they don't know we're doing this for them :) *shhhhh*
So if you are able to, we would appreciate any amount toward this relief fund. The funds will primarily be used for purchasing construction materials (wood, zinc, nails, etc.) and equipment (chainsaws, hammers, etc.), hiring workmen, and general expenses (gas, food, water, etc.).
Thank you!
