Hurricane Michael, the most powerful hurricane to hit the continental U.S. in over 50 years, left a path of damage and destruction in the Chipley/Marianna area where many of our associates live.
Our building is now operational with some damage. Operations have resumed at the Chipley facility. Most damage and destruction were felt by our associates in their homes and communities. Some incurred minor damage; other associates incurred significant damage and in some instances, total loss. Their lives have changed and the road to recovery is going to be long one.
This fund was setup to give immediate help to our Chipley family when they need it the most. Donations to this fund will be used to purchase gift cards that will be distributed to our employees to help with the purchase of basic items - gas for their cars; food and water for themselves and their families - and other basic necessities to help them out in their time of need.
We are enlisting the help of our associates from all over the company - New York, Clemson, Valley and our home offices to consider making a donation to this fund. Any donation is greatly appreciated - large or small. Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much!
This campaign was organized by Ed Barnett, CIO (Clemson Office) and Donna Burkard, Sr. Network Engineer (New York Office). Vinita Yon, the local HR Manager at our Chipley facility, is currently meeting with associates to understand their individual situations and personal loss. All applications for assistance will be reviewed by an internal committee and funds will distributed to those most impacted .
