Our cat Cyn

Approx two weeks ago, our cheeky youngster cat Cyn started behaving somewhat peculiar, not being him self to the fullest.

His daily activities such as playing fetch-a-stick (brought up by a dog bestie...) or exploring new areas during forest walks all of a sudden seemed too demanding. He got tired quickly and sometimes appeared to have a troubled breathing.

A visit to the vet showed nothing wrong with heart or lungs and so we decided to keep him under an extra eye.

A week later, shortly after a perfectly normal breakfast routine I found his eyes to be covered by cornea and he stumbled a bit and then went for a rest.

I found no signs of sting or snake bite and he didn`t seem to be in pain. I called vet for consultation and spent most time that day singing for him.

Following micro rest-s, he "came back" with usual good appetite but wanted to be fed by hand only and agreed on sipping water from a syringe.

Allthough stumbly, he ambisiosly went to the loo, then back to his bed, all looking fine in the litter box

Later same day he drifted off, showing no signs at all hearing his name or answering back as he normally would.

His breathing got shallow and slow, ears and gum pale and it really felt like he was dying there and now.

We rushed to the vet, and after thorough examination they suspect neurological disease and/or FIP ( migrating from feline corona virus). He recieved an anti-inflammatory injection and woke up the day after in full spirit. Those (including my self) that met him before/after are equally amazed , and baffled such a change even being possible.

In order to exclude FIP, an x-ray is needed

To further investigate neurological queries, I will need to consult a vet specialized in such

I got him insured a while ago, but the initial costs which belongs to those first visits, are not covered due to a waiting period

-Being outside of normal hourly rates, that bill landed with a sum I was NOT ready for. At all.

Normally, I would be able to afford such eventualities, or I wouldn`t have animals at all

But this unexpected expense became the tip of the iceberg of many other unexpected health related recent events in life, related to health matters

I expect further costs to be covered by his insurance.
