Our Campaign for Breast Cancer
Hi,
A bit of a long one, but bear with me! Last year, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. I appreciate that some of you who know Mum will be shocked to be hearing this for the first time in this way, but I hope you understand that this has been a tricky period and only very recently has been something that we decided to share.
As a fiercely private family, we have taken the time to figure out the best way we can turn some tough news into something positive, and so on the 15th of March, my little sister, Sam, and I will be running the Bath Half Marathon together in aid of the charity; Breast Cancer Now.
Those of you who know us well, will know that Sam and I are incredibly close to Mum, so whilst at times we have found it particularly difficult, I remain in absolute awe of the resilience and bravery she has shown throughout.
Though I will never be able to express enough thanks to those who choose to donate, it would make my family even happier if this post serves as a reminder to undergo regular checks and breast screenings - candidly, without an early diagnosis, I am not so sure how different an outcome it could have been.
With love and thanks to all,
Tristan (and Sam)
