Our Brother Vince

Donation protected
Hi friends.
Many of you know our brother Vince. Those of you who don’t, Vince was in a serious accident when he was 19 that left him brain-damaged and partially paralyzed and has since been challenged with many obstacles as he’s aged. While he has built a life for himself, fathered a beautiful daughter, lived independently, he struggles with many of the things we take for granted. He cannot read a bill, can’t call the cable company or make his own doctor appts. Can’t hold a “real” job. He collects a pittance in disability and food assistance. And his body is starting to fail him. Yet despite his limitations, Vince will unfailingly help anyone in need with whatever he has to give. He doesn't even think twice about it.
We, Vince's siblings, are trying to help him live a little easier. We’ve been able to smooth out some of the bigger potholes. His apartment building was bought out by a new landlord and suddenly Vince needs to find an affordable place to live (yes, in this market!) and we're getting a handle on that. But right now what he needs most is a reliable truck to drive. (Yes, in this market!) He mows lawns, clears snow, fixes small engines, so he needs a truck.
We're looking for a “project” truck. Low initial purchase price, just needs work- parts and sweat equity. Vince will be under the hood with me as much as he can be.
We simply don’t have the up-front outlay for the purchase and possibly expensive parts (new engine?) I’m estimating maybe $2500-$3500 to get him into something decent that won’t let him down. That’s with a lot of personal hours, wrenching. We've set our goal a little high in the hopes of covering some surprises, as often "project" vehicles can have.
Thank you for reading. We understand if you can't spare anything right now, but maybe you can help get our request out to a few more people. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Cameron, Kelly and Sean Purdy
