Our brother Jeff

Hi all,

Jeff was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma in April 2021. For those familiar with this disease, it is an incredibly aggressive form of brain cancer.

He’s been in hospitals and rehabs for much of the past year and a half. Jeff has already shown incredible resolve in fighting this tumor, but his and his family's lives are forever changed, with their day-to-day solely focused on his care.

Jeff has been in the hospital since June, and his wife and two young daughters have been working toward the milestone of him coming home. However, when he's finally released from the rehab facility, he will need 24-hour care that insurance won’t fully cover, and his family cannot handle themselves fully. We hope the funds raised here will cover the costs of a full-time home health aid that can allow him to remain safely at home and give Traci, Vivian and Sascha peace of mind. If we meet our fundraising goal, we will also plan to invest this money on Traci's behalf so that she has a cushion when she needs it for future medical costs.

So many people have supported the Kayes already. We are one small part of a group of his close friends in Brooklyn who have established a GoFundMe to help with his care, and we hope any friends who can contribute will do so. If you're unable to, we hope you'll consider passing this along to anyone who knows Jeff and has experienced his friendship, kindness, and generosity.
