Help Our Brave Rescue Pitbull Survive Bone Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Community,
Ten years ago, our family experienced a life-changing event when Tucker, a then-35-pound, emaciated pitbull mix with a traumatic past as a bait dog, entered our lives. Tucker was found at the side of the road, barely clinging to life. He had bite marks all over his body, his canine teeth were filed down, and his ears were damaged from bite marks—evidence of the cruelty he endured in his previous life.
My niece, a future veterinary student, was volunteering at the shelter when Tucker was brought in. She saw the gentle spirit in his pain-filled eyes and knew he wouldn't survive in a shelter. She asked us to take care of him for a few days. I reluctantly agreed to keep Tucker for the weekend, still healing from the loss of our beloved dog Nino (12). But it didn’t take long for Tucker’s sweet nature and resilience to capture our hearts, and he quickly became an irreplaceable part of our family.
Tucker, now our neighborhood’s ambassador, has even won over the hearts of people who were once afraid of dogs. He has thrived on the love and care of our community, and everyone looks forward to greeting him on his daily walks, often with treats in hand!
But now, our brave and beloved Tucker faces his toughest battle yet: bone cancer in his front right leg. The vet has informed us that without amputation, Tucker may only have a few weeks to live. Our family is heartbroken, but we refuse to give up on Tucker, who has already overcome so much in his life.
This is where we humbly turn to our community for help. We are raising funds to cover Tucker's surgery, which is essential for his survival. Our hope is to give Tucker the fighting chance he deserves. While we have not yet considered the cost of chemotherapy, we take comfort in knowing that we are tackling this journey one day at a time.
We understand that times are tough for many people, but any contribution, big or small, will help our family navigate this difficult time and give Tucker a new lease on life. We appreciate your kindness and support more than words can express.
Thank you for being part of Tucker's journey and for standing by our side as we fight for our beloved four-legged family member. Let's rally together and create a miracle for Tucker!
Warmest regards,
Dave and Family
