Our beautiful little Beau who is one month shy from his 2nd birthday has recently experienced a sudden and terrifying medical emergency that has turned his family’s world upside down.

Beau was rushed to hospital after suffering severe irregular heart rhythms caused by a cardiac fibroma — a rare growth on the heart that interferes with the heart’s electrical signals and ability to pump blood properly. In a matter of moments, everything changed.

Thanks to the quick actions of incredible neighbours who performed CPR until paramedics arrived, Beau was given the chance to keep fighting. He was urgently flown to Melbourne, where he is now receiving specialist care and preparing for major heart surgery.

This has been an incredibly traumatic and emotional time for Beau’s parents, siblings and loved ones. We are so grateful to CareFlight for getting Beau and his family to Melbourne so quickly, and to the Ronald McDonald House for providing accommodation and support during this difficult time.

Doctors have advised that Beau and his family will likely need to remain in Melbourne for one to two months while he undergoes treatment, surgery and recovery. With Nathan being self-employed, this means there is currently little to no income coming in while they stay by Beau’s bedside. Alongside the emotional toll, the financial pressure of being away from home for such an extended period is becoming overwhelming.

We are creating this fundraiser to help ease some of that burden so the family can focus entirely on what matters most — supporting Beau as he fights through the biggest battle of his young life.
