Hi, my name is Viviane and along with my partner Joyce we are fundraising for our best friend Oreo.
Oreo was adopted in 2018 being there for almost 1 year as no one would give him a chance, because of his age at the time of 8 years.
Now, Oreo is 15 years and was brought to the vet few weeks ago as his appetite and behaviour changed which was very unusual.
After a few tests, we discovered he is anaemic but the reason, we didn't have it clear, so we submitted him for more tests. Unfortunately, the results weren't what we were hoping for.
The vets found a considerate size of some mass in his intestine and after more tests, the result came back as lymphoma.
To make sure we have the correct diagnostic, they send everything they collected to a specific laboratory and we are hoping they are able to use what was collected, otherwise, Oreo will have to go through all the tests once again.
We need to have 100% sure of what type of cancer we are talking about, before discussing the options of chemotherapy or only palliative care.
The help we are asking is to cover part of the costs so we can be prepared for the next steps that won't be easy and or cheap. Up to this week we already cover the following tests:
- Lab Abaxis Comprehensive Incl Haem: €196.60
- Lab Imagyst Blood Smear/FIV/FELV test: €81.50
- Lab Abaxis Clotting times/Cytology/Ultrasound Scan: €502.90
- AX Feline PARR Testing: €574.75
We are not ready to say goodbye to our best friend yet and only the thoughts of it are dilacerating. Our hearts are broken.
We will try everything we can to save him or to at least make him more comfortable with no pain until he decides his time here with us is up and he will watch us from the other side.
