Help our beloved Tanya through breast cancer

Hi everyone. Sadly, we have recently found out that our beloved daughter/sister/Mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The news was totally unexpected as her previous scans in August 2022 were completely normal. It has also come during a time when we’re all still grieving the loss of Alan; Tanya's loving father who suddenly passed in November 2022.

Tanya is about to embark on a very difficult and confronting journey and doesn’t at this stage have a roadmap for treatment. However, she does know that the treatment will include chemotherapy and surgery.

Tanya’s passion has always been dance and she has worked tirelessly throughout her life to run her Dance Action studio which includes dance classes, her boys program; ‘B Street Crew’ and CONNECT boys dance events. Dance Action has been in the Gladesville/Ryde community for 33 years, and Tanya has taught in a number of schools across these suburbs. Tanya is a highly valued member of the community, and she has mentored and taught hundreds of boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 18 with adult dance classes as well. Her CONNECT boys dance events are highly valued by the dance community. The events have and continue to create a community of support and involvement for boys that dance, connecting them through dance.

She has courageously supported herself to ensure that the studio classes and programs stay afloat as we know how important they are to her, the students and the dance industry. After the decimation of COVID and lockdown, she has been slowly but successfully building the classes and programs back up and was looking forward to a thriving 2023.

It is our desire to create a financial opportunity through Go Fund Me, to support her ability to employ people and ensure that her rent and bills are also covered. This will allow her the space to focus on her healing journey without any additional stress during this difficult time.
