Our beloved Scott Thompson

Update: Earl has decided to have Scott's celebration of life on November 6, 2022 in Newbury Park, CA. We wanted to make those of you who will be traveling aware of the date for planning purposes. We'll provide more details as we get closer. We hope you are able to come join us and celebrate the intelligent, witty, smart ass, hilarious and loving person that Scott was.

Update: Since the fall was Scott's favorite time of year, Earl has decided he would like to hold services for him sometime between Halloween and Thanksgiving. We will post more later when we have more details. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all of the love and support.

Update: With the heaviest of hearts I am sharing this update, at 1:58 AM PST May 1, 2022 Scott passed away peacefully with Earl by his side. As I mentioned before, this was unexpected and any money raised on this GoFundMe is to assist with medical, funeral expenses, etc. I'm hoping we can get closer to the goal. Those of you who knew Scott, please share, as I am not connected with everyone who knew and loved him. Thank you in advance. I will continue to provide updates here. It's important that we support each other during this extremely painful time, especially Earl and Scott's family.

With a broken heart and his husband Earl's permission, I am sharing this news about my dearest friend Scott Thompson. A week and a half ago Scott had a series of seizures. He went right into a coma and they thought he was going to come through it, when he didn’t they did an MRI on April 21, 2022 and discovered he had had a series of strokes that have caused severe damage to his brain. The doctor told Earl he will never come out of it. On April 25, 2022 Earl put Scott in hospice end of life care. Although Scott has been battling health issues for some time now, he had improved dramatically very recently and this was very unexpected, he is only 44 years old.

 

Scott is dearly loved by so many and the thought of life without him is truly unbearable. He is the funniest, wittiest, hilariously sarcastic, intelligent, strong, loyal friend and loving person you could ever know. I'm putting this fundraiser together to help Earl and the rest of his family cover service expenses to honor Scott and to assist Earl with the transition to new life circumstances. Scott lost both of his parents years ago and was starting to look into life insurance, etc. and then this happened. If you are in a position to, any amount you are able to contribute will be more than greatly appreciated during this incredibly difficult time.
