Our Beloved Mother: Youa Vang

My mother, Youa Vang, passed away on March 25th, 2022 at the age of 50. She was a loving mother to 3 sons and 3 daughters, a devoted wife to her husband, an affectionate grandmother to her grandchildren, an adoring sister to her siblings, and a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews. My mother was a warm-hearted, silly, outgoing, and courageous woman. She loved and cherished her grandchildren the most; they brought so much joy and happiness into her life.

 

In July 2021, my mom was diagnosed with a very rare type of liver cancer. She was given 6 months to live and started chemotherapy with palliative intent. With each cycle of chemotherapy, there was hope that she would be able to fight this cancer and continue to live a long life with her children. As months went by, she became weaker, and there was less that doctors could do for her.

 

It still feels unreal to say that our mother is no longer here with us. We want to arrange a beautiful, traditional Hmong ceremony for our loving mother to honor the life that she has lived and say our last goodbyes. All donations will be used toward funeral expenses and memorial services. Any and every amount is significantly appreciated.
