Our beloved mom burial to take her back home
Donation protected
UPDATE - July 15th, 2023 - We wanted to thank everyone that donated to our moms funeral and burial. We were able to raise enough funds through Gofundme, Zelle, Venmo, Navajo Taco fundraiser and family donations. Our mom was laid to rest at BIC Chapter house in Bloomfield, NM on July 14th.
Hi, our name is Letitia and Damon Jr., we unfortuntnetly lost our mom on June 18th. She was fatally struck by a car in Sun Valley (near Vineland and Ratner) and passed away upon impact. The person that did hit her stayed at the scene. We never expected this to happen to us and we are all in shock and still processing losing her. She was a mother, grandma, sister, daughter and friend.
Our mom was 62 years old and always made people laugh. She loved to dance and loved her music. She stayed close to her Navajo roots and you would always see her at the local Pow Wow's. She was also very creative and would do sewing and making blankets.
We're raising money to take her back home to the Navajo Nations Reservation in New Mexico. We want to lay her to rest next to her sister and her nephew. In our native culture, its important to bury a loved one and not cremate them. All the funds donated will be used toward the two funeral home, one in Simi Valley, one in Shiprock, New Mexico and to pay for additional expenses for us to travel back home as a family unit and lay her to rest.
Our family greatly appreciate any kind of donation and you can also Zelle me at 3235145226.
Thank you,
Letitia and Damon Jr.
