Our beloved brother needs our help. What say you?

I don’t know if I’m the best person to write this but silence isn't an option.

Chris is a dear friend and a faithful brother in Christ. Just weeks ago, while driving home, he suffered what appeared to be a stroke. By the grace of God, he was able to safely stop and receive emergency medical care. Since then, doctors discovered a lesion on his frontal lobe.

This is serious. And now, in the midst of trying to get medical help, Chris hasn’t been able to work. He’s struggling to support his two boys. He may lose his home in the coming weeks. The $30,000 I am trying to raise will provide 1 year of rent so he can rest assured that he and his two boys have a roof over their heads.

And here’s where I can’t stay quiet:

We, the Church, were never called to be spectators to someone else’s suffering.

There’s no excuse. Not when we have resources, surplus even. Some of us could give $10 and not feel it. But it could mean everything to someone else.

Scripture tells us in Acts 4:34-35:

“There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them… and it was distributed to anyone who had need.”

This wasn’t charity. It was covenant. It was the Church being the Church.

So I’m asking...no, I’m calling...on pastors, leaders, churches, and believers in this community:

This man has served, loved, and poured into many of you. How will you respond?

Heaven is watching.

Hell is watching.

And the world is watching to see what kind of Jesus we really follow.

Let’s show them.

Let’s surround Chris with the same love Christ gave us.

Let’s meet the need together.
