Help Charlotte’s Fight Against Cancer & Treatment Challenges
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sophie, and I am raising money for my best friend Jade and her beautiful baby girl, Charlotte.
Charlotte is 2 years old and is currently undergoing intensive treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma - a rare form of soft tissue cancer that develops in the body’s muscles. Charlotte’s cancer journey so far has been difficult. Her little body is fighting a hard battle against a treatment that is ultimately saving her life. But her strength and resilience is nothing short of a miracle. She has her good weeks and bad weeks, but she never fails to have a smile on her beautiful face.
So far, Charlotte is roughly halfway through her treatment. She is receiving intense chemotherapy for 25 weeks through her PICC line. During each course, she spends 3 to 4 days in hospital with her mum, Jade, and her baby sister, Sadie.
The chemotherapy will shrink the cancer as much as possible before she undergoes surgery to completely remove the tumour. Doctors will operate on Charlotte’s leg at around 13 weeks. After surgery, she will have radiotherapy, which aims to kill any remaining cancer cells that might be present to reduce the risk of the cancer returning. Finally, after 25 long weeks of treatment and surgery, Charlotte will need to take a follow-up chemotherapy drug, which will last for around 12 months.
The reason I am asking for your donations is to help ease any financial strain and to ensure that Jade can make Charlotte as happy and comfortable as possible during her fight against cancer.
Jade is a single parent to her beautiful girls- Charlotte (2) and Sadie (6 months). I just want to finish by saying how proud I am of Jade. I have never once heard her complain; she tackles every obstacle thrown her way and she is an amazing mum to those two girls. Her friends and family are prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure she never has to struggle and to ease any financial burden as she carries her baby girl to the finish line of her cancer journey.
