Our names are Holly and Alex and this is our fundraising page for our son Dylan who is nearly 3 years old.

THE BIRTH-

Our beautiful baby boy Dylan was born on the 25th of June 2021. Two months before his due date.

THE DIAGNOSIS-

Dylan had to spend some time in NICU. While in NICU we found out from a routine brain scan Dylan had periventricular leukomalacia which is a softening to the white brain tissue near the ventricles. The white matter is the inner part of the brain. It sends information between the nerve cells and the spinal cord, and from one part of the brain to another.

This could affect Dylan's chances of ever being able to walk or talk.

I felt heartbroken, why my baby?

We got told to do as much early intervention as possible to improve the outcome for Dylan.

Since bringing Dylan home he has been diagnosed with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy and also Dylan is registered blind he’s got CVI which is neurological blindness.

Dylan has very low muscle tone in his core

Dylan can not yet sit up or rollover

THE TREATMENTS-

We have been told the NHS is under strain from the lockdown and cannot give Dylan the amount of therapy that he needs.

We have seen amazing results from private physio and OT sessions we are doing with him although it comes at a huge price.

THE ASK-

We have made this fundraising page to raise awareness and give Dylan the best opportunity for independence in the future.

Dylan is an amazing little boy and does everything with a smile on his face despite what has been thrown at him!
