Our Auntie Phoebe
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tiza. My family and I are fundraising for Our Auntie Phoebe.
Auntie Phoebe is the one of the strongest women we know. She always has the biggest smile, has the best laugh, she loves deeply, she’s kind, she’s generous and she’s so beautiful in every way. She has gone through so much, but she continues to walk with her head up high and with her faith in God being stronger than ever.
Almost 5 years ago, our Auntie Phoebe’s life was changed when she started experiencing symptoms such as high fevers, sever body pain and eventually was unable to walk. For months, the doctors could not figure out her diagnosis. After about 7 months, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma. This specific cancer grows in the smooth muscles in the hollow organs of the body. The cancer was first found in her uterus and lungs. Currently, it has metastasized to her liver and pelvis.
She was first told that she had about a year to live. In her heart, she knew that only God knows when He wants to take her home. With her determination to fight for her life and with her strong faith in the Lord, she passed the timeline that was given to her with a big smile on her face. She continued to pass every little timeline that her oncologist has given her. As she was fighting the cancer, she even had a hysterectomy. She started taking more natural supplements to help build her immune system while going through her regular treatments. As her body got stronger, she went on remission for about a year. During that time, she continued with her treatments as a maintenance. Unfortunately, the cancer came back aggressively.
It's almost 5 years and she’s still praying, fighting, smiling and laughing. In the past year, she’s been in and out of the hospital numerous times. Some doctors have not given her hope and have even suggested hospice care. Some did not think that she would be able to leave the hospital. We all continued to pray and even with all the negative words from the doctors, her faith in God never went weary. Her oncologist told those doctors, “You don’t know my patient. She’s a fighter and I will fight with her!”
She has been receiving other alternative cancer treatments. Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover any of the cost. With the help of some loved ones, she’s been able pay for some of the treatments. We want her to receive all the treatments that is offered to her. She wants to continue fighting and we will continue to fight with her.
If you would like to help with Auntie Phoebe’s medical costs, please contribute to here. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
