Our Amazing Mail Carrier Kevin Wilson

Donation protected
San Diego neighborhood of El Cerrito is devastated by the untimely death of their extraordinary mail carrier, Kevin Wilson. Kevin delivered mail for over 25 years while touching the lives of every single one of his customers.  Whether it be a friendly smile, greeting our animals or taking special care of our packages, he was loved by all and will be missed greatly.

It was a shock to find out he was killed in a hit-and-run accident while biking on Martin Luther King Day.  His best friend, Russell, takes comfort in the fact that Kevin loved riding and was doing what he loved when he passed.

All of the neighbors on his route are gathering with his wife, Nancy, and his best friend, Russell, to share stories of their friendship and to honor his memory.  Some have also left a remembrance of Kevin near their mailbox to pay tribute.  NBC San Diego aired a special piece about him at this link https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/wife-mourns-veteran-postal-worker-killed-while-cycling/2248908/

In addition to his mail route "family" Kevin also had many friends and co-workers at the Post Office who are devastated by his loss.

All money raised by this campaign will go to help Kevin's family with funeral and other unexpected family expenses.  Hi wife, Nancy, would also like to create a permanent memorial on Dehesa Road where the accident occurred as well as explore using money raised to combat drunk driving.
