Our amazing father Daniel Erazo- Homegoing

Donation protected
Hello everyone, My name is Michelle Erazo, Daniel's daughter. I would love to start off with a brief introduction about my dad. He was born in Puerto Rico then moved to NYC-Brooklyn area. This is where he settled and started a family. He eventually relocated to NJ, back to NYC, Schenectady NY and then finally to Richmond, VA. He loved music especially oldies (stylistics, 4 tops, Gladys Knight, Salsa and also loved to play his conga as well), he loved to do contract work for people and places like churches (Sacred Heart Church- Schdy NY) where he would paint and do maintenance work. He also had a love for wood work, watch repair, and also making the most prettiest clocks out of wood, hub caps or anything that came to his mind. My dad had such a talent that the good lord blessed him with. He was a good man and had a beautiful heart. He was always helping everyone out that would come to him. He made friends anywhere we relocated and they loved my dad. He was well respected everywhere and by everyone.
My dad was also disabled and obtained a spinal cord injury at the age of 18 and was told he would never walk again. That was not in God's plan- My dad defied those odds and God got him through that difficult time. My dad was able to walk with a slight limp and also with the use of assistive devices to get around just fine. My dad was a fighter and one of the strongest men we had the pleasure of calling our father. For those that knew my dad they knew he also had quite a personality and loved to joke around and make people laugh.

Unfortunately, during the weekend of Valentine's he became severely sick. This led him to the hospital and where we received the news of his terminal prognosis. My dad was diagnosed with end stage Liver Cancer resulting in hospice care. These days have been the most difficult time and experience our family has had to deal with. The pain of losing your parent (s) is the most unbearable type of pain to endure especially when you love your father as much as our family does. He was the Matriarch of our family. This came so sudden, unforeseen and unexpected. Life can change in the blink of an eye as has ours.

The reason for this gofund me page is to help assist with upcoming funeral expenses so that we can give our dad a nice memorial and home going service. Nothing big something simple but nice so that we can say our goodbyes. Our family appreciates anything to help us with these expenses. I want to say thank you for your contribution in advance. Please keep our family in prayer during this difficult time. Thank you so much and God Bless. ~The Erazo Family
