Hi everyone,
We are reaching out today with humble hearts to share a bit about the journey our family has been on over the last few months. As many of you know, our sweet boy Cameron underwent surgery at the beginning of December for a Hypospadias and Chordee correction. We were so hopeful that this would be the final step in his recovery, but unfortunately, we’ve hit a significant roadblock.
A Difficult Turn in Recovery
During a recent follow-up, it was discovered that Cameron may have developed a urethrocutaneous fistula. This means that despite the initial surgery, he likely faces another procedure and will once again have to be put under anesthesia. Watching your child go through surgery is never easy, and facing the prospect of "round two" so soon is heartbreaking for us.
The "Perfect Storm"
While our main focus is Cameron’s health, the financial weight of this season has become overwhelming. It feels like a "perfect storm" of unexpected challenges has hit us all at once:
Medical Bills: Between my recent C-section recovery and the mounting bills from Cameron’s initial surgery and follow-up care, the costs are rising faster than we can keep up.
Transportation Hurdles: We’ve been hit with several major car issues recently, making it difficult to ensure reliable transport to all these specialist appointments.
Income Gaps: We received the unexpected news that the company bonus we usually rely on to bridge the gap during the holidays was not given out this year.
Our Path to Stability
We want to be transparent about our situation: for the last few years, we have been working diligently through a 5-year debt relief program. We are committed to financial responsibility, but part of this process means we have no access to credit or savings to lean on during emergencies. We are doing everything we can to provide for our family, but these unexpected medical and mechanical "hits" have pushed us to a breaking point.
A Heart Full of Gratitude
Despite the stress, we know we are not alone. We feel incredibly blessed and grateful for our amazing family and our wonderful church family. You all have already given so much—whether it was a meal, a prayer, or a kind word—and you have truly sustained us through this difficult season.
We are asking for your help to help cover Cameron’s upcoming medical expenses and the costs of getting our family back on stable ground. If you are unable to donate, we completely understand and simply ask for your continued prayers for Cameron’s healing and for wisdom for his doctors.
Thank you for loving us and our sweet boy so well.
With love and gratitude
Caitlin and Stefan Hall
