Our world changed in an instant.
Our beautiful little boy, Alfie, is just 4 years old. Until recently, he was full of energy, laughter, and all the curiosity that comes with being so young. But out of nowhere, our lives were turned upside down when Alfie was unexpectedly diagnosed with leukaemia.
Nothing prepares you to hear those words about your child.
Alfie is now facing a long and incredibly tough journey ahead. He has already begun intensive chemotherapy and will need to stay in hospital for at least a month. Being by his side every moment is the only place we want to be—but it means we are unable to work during this time.
We also don’t live near the hospital, so alongside the emotional strain, we are facing the added pressure of travel costs, accommodation, and keeping up with our household bills back home. Everything has become uncertain, all at once.
After this initial hospital stay, Alfie’s fight won’t be over. He will need to return to hospital multiple times a week for the next two years to continue his treatment. It’s going to be a long road, filled with challenges we never imagined we would face.
Right now, our only focus is Alfie—holding his hand through every treatment, comforting him when he’s scared, and trying to keep his little world as safe and loving as possible during such a frightening time.
We are asking for help to ease some of the financial burden so we can be there for him without the constant worry of how we will manage. Any support—no matter how small—will go towards travel, bills, and making sure we can stay close to Alfie throughout his treatment.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading our story, for your kindness, and for helping us stand strong for our brave little boy.
Alfie is already showing us just how strong he is. Now we’re doing everything we can to stand strong for him.
friends are also taking part in a 60 mile bike ride and a fishing fundraiser. All event updates will be posted in the updates.
