Please Help Otis

Hi, my name is Saphire, and I’m reaching out with everything I have — because our cat, Otis, is in serious trouble, and we’re running out of time to save him.

Otis isn’t just a pet to us — he’s part of our family. He’s been with me, my boyfriend (Aaron) and our one-year-old son through so much. He is 3 years old, and Aaron and I have had him for about 2 1/2 years. He’s the been there during the tough times, and our son absolutely loves him. They’re growing up together, and we want to see them continue to share their lives as our son gets older.

But right now, Otis is in pain. For the past 24 hours, he’s been unable to go to the bathroom properly. He’s straining, leaking blood, barely moving, and has stopped eating and drinking. His belly is swelling, and he cries out in pain whenever he tries to pee. I’ve tried everything to keep him calm, warm, and comfortable, but this is a life-threatening urinary blockage that won’t resolve without emergency vet care.

We’ve called around, applied for CareCredit, and explored every other option we could, but we just don’t have the funds to get Otis the help he needs. Asking for help isn’t something we normally do, but Otis is everything to us. We have asked everyone in our families that we possibly could. We can’t bear the thought of losing him — not just because of the pain it would cause, but because our son loves him so much, and we want to see them grow up together.
