Hi everyone,

My name is Elaysha, and I’m fundraising for my sweet mini poodle Oswald, who was recently diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that caused his platelet count to drop to zero.

It all happened so unexpectedly. I took Oswald to get groomed like any other day. When I picked him up, the groomer who shares space with the vet at Petco told me he had red spots all over his body. Thankfully, the vet happened to be open, so I took him in immediately. They were so concerned they told me I needed to get him to the emergency hospital right away.

That decision likely saved his life. The red spots turned out to be signs of internal bleeding, and the vet confirmed that if I hadn’t brought him in when I did, he could have bled to death.

Oswald is now undergoing treatment at the vet hospital. His care has included emergency hospitalization, IV therapy, bloodwork, and medications to help his body fight back. It’s been a whirlwind, and while we’re holding onto hope, it’s clear we have a long road ahead of us.

As you can imagine, the cost of care has quickly become overwhelming. I’m doing everything I can, but I need help to continue giving Oswald the treatment he needs to survive.
