Jayce Lilly 8 yrs old diagnosed with Osteo Sarcoma

Hi, my name is Gina Whipple-Lilly and I am starting a fund raiser for my son Jayce Lilly. He had a lot of pain in his upper leg the last few weeks. I decided to go in to get x-rays and an MRI done. They referred me to the Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City Utah. We thought maybe a severe infection from a possible fracture but I had no answers. Jayce had to be put under anesthesia for a Biopsy to determine the actual diagnoses of what they could see in the MRI images. Within a few hours we had the result. The doctor pulled us aside to a separate family room and informed us that our 8 year old son Jayce is in the early stages of Osteo Sarcoma. After an extremely emotional conversation about treatment options, non of which a parent wants for their child, a port directly to his to his heart was placed to prep him for chemotherapy which starts next week. He will endure 6-9 months of chemotherapy. In the mid-weeks of treatment he will undergo a full leg reconstruction where they will remove the whole femur and replace it with his lower leg bone. He will use a prosthetic the rest of his life. Once Jayce finishes chemotherapy treatments and during the last few weeks he will have alot of physical therapy to learn how to use his leg again. Within a couple days my son Jayce went from a super active 8 year old boy to finding out he has cancer instead of a fracture or infection. Our world has been turned upside down in seconds and I am going to be by his side every step of the way no longer able to work. We are asking for your help please. We are struggling financially to figure out how to cover everything that my beautiful, sweet, smart, loving, funny and God fearing son Jayce needs to go through to get his life back.
