Hi all,

If you’ve known me for the last couple of years you know that my sweet Oskie pup is the love of my life, she’s been my rock for the last two years and brought so much love and joy to me and every person she’s met, she’s such a kind, sweet, gentle, goofy creature.

A couple of months ago Oskie started limping, I took her to multiple vets who told me it was pulled muscle/hip sprain but I just knew that it was more than that and pushed for an X-Ray, it came back with really awful news. At two years old she’s got highly degenerated bilateral hip dysplasia and arthritis. Heart broken couldn’t begin to describe how I’ve been feeling, if you know Oskie her favourite thing is tearing through the under growth, clambering clumsily up a mountain side and playing rough and tumble with her sisters, dog friends and human friends. None of these things she’s allowed to do anymore.

I’ve attached a photo of her hip X-Ray, if you compare it to a healthy dogs hips you can see how much pain she’s been in for her entire short life. For now we are managing her pain with painkillers but she’s not responding very well to them and even after 10 mins of walking she’s heavily limping, a sign that she’s going to need surgery sooner rather than later. The sooner she has this surgery the sooner she’ll be able to go back to her fun runaround self and not just be stuck on the lead. I’m going to be having continues vet contact and can keep everyone updated on here.

I’m fundraising now so that she’ll be able to have this life changing surgery as soon as she can. Any help would be so appreciated, I luckily have pet insurance but unfortunately it only cover £3k of this £10k surgery, which is just not money that I have and all I want is for Oskie to be not in pain and be able to enjoy the rest of her life in the best way she can.
