Oskar’s Angel Wings…Help support Oskar’s family.

Hello, my name is Caitlin I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister and brother in law, Maria and Doug. Tragically they lost their beautiful son Oskar on Friday afternoon.
Oskar had a number of medical complications. His main diagnosis Nicolaides-Baraitser syndrome is so rare that he was 1 of only a few hundred in the world. Along with this Oskar had cerebral dysfunction, microcephaly, hypertonia, hypotonia, dystonia, failure to thrive, and complex epilepsy. Despite these challenges, Oskar remained a happy and inspiring little boy who brought joy to our community, family, and friends.
In April 2023, Oskar experienced a sudden onset of epileptic seizures, dystonia, and lung shadowing, necessitating frequent hospital visits and extended stays in children's critical care. Over the period of just a few months, he had spent over 90 days admitted in hospital away from his brother and sister.
Despite his challenges, Oskar demonstrated remarkable resilience and consistently defied medical expectations. His parents, Maria and Doug, displayed unwavering dedication, adapting to his evolving needs and providing constant support, even at the expense of their own well-being and financial stability.
Tragically, on Friday the 13th, Oskar unexpectedly passed away during his afternoon nap, leaving Maria and Doug in a state of profound grief.
As a close-knit community, we recognize the urgent need to alleviate the financial burden associated with this unforeseen tragedy. Your generous contributions will enable Maria and Doug to provide Oskar with a dignified farewell, while also allowing them to focus on their grieving process and the well-being of their other children, Tommy and Sofia, during this exceptionally difficult time.
Every donation, regardless of its size, will be deeply appreciated and will serve as a testament to our collective support for Maria and Doug. Let us unite in compassion and solidarity, surrounding them with love and understanding as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
