Oscar’s Toy Drive for Dell Children’s Hospital
Tax deductible
PHASE II UPDATE: We met our initial $2000 CCTV goal in HOURS! Help us raise another $2000 to purchase a hip hop program that will teach patients about beatboxing and drumming.
Since the pandemic began, all activities, special events, and visitors for inpatient children at Dell Children's Medical Center -- many of the wonderful touches that made a stay more bearable -- have been restricted. The Child Life department has been busy coming up with creative ways to help children cope with their isolation.
Your donations will fund an expansion of Child Life's Closed Circuit TV programming. This includes new AV equipment, from microphones to backdrops; costumes and supplies for the performers; and individual activity and art kits, delivered to patient rooms, so children can participate remotely during the broadcasts facilitated by the hospital's Art Therapy and Child Life Teams.
$10: one set of art or activity supplies for a patient
$20: one costume for a patient
$25: one custom backdrop for a CCTV Show
$50: high quality microphone and accessories
$100: costumes and accessories for the Child Life Team
$250: supplies for one entire unit of patients to participate in one CCTV Show
One great bonus? CCTV will especially benefit patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), where Oscar and his friends spend most of their inpatient time at Dell. EMU patients are often confined to their rooms for video monitoring (and miss out on hospital-wide event programming) even when there isn't a pandemic!
Dell Children's will rely heavily on CCTV for the foreseeable future and beyond. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
