Oscar’s dialysis fund to start Peritoneal Dialysis soon.

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Oscar and I’m fundraising for my 57 year old father, Oscar, who has IgA nephropathy, also known as Berger disease, which is a kidney disease. It happens when a germ-fighting protein called immunoglobulin A (IgA) builds up in the kidneys. This causes a type of swelling that, over time, can make it harder for the kidneys to filter waste from the blood. Right now, his kidney function (EGFR) is at 13% and his doctor has thankfully already put him up for dialysis, but he’ll have to go on disability and only earn a fraction of his income. I, his son, am the only other income in the family (my mother can’t work because of disability) and my part alone will not get us through rent and bills. I’ll also be getting my blood tested to see If I am a match so that I can be his donor in case his kidney function worsens, so I’d have to miss work in case that ever happens. We desperately need the help at least for now for the next few months until we see his kidney function progress enough to get back to work. Any donations at all will be greatly appreciated.

How funds will be used: Most is for rent for a couple of months. Rent is $2k.

Thank you.
