On Wednesday March 24, 2021 Oscar was found unconscious and rushed to St Mary’s hospital via ambulance on a ventilator. The medical teams have worked around the clock to try and put this all into perspective for us. We were preparing for the worst and hoping to hear good news! After four days of no answers and so many tests we were given the news we didn’t want to hear. On Saturday March 28, 2021 an MRI showed that Oscars white brain matters was completely damaged. He had a lot of trauma to his brain from a lack of oxygen. Doctors were preparing us that Oscar may not wake up. It was going to be a waiting game! We knew we had to keep praying and reminding Oscar daily we were here no matter what.. not to give up and to keep fighting to open those eyes..On Sunday March 25, 2021 since Oscar was breathing on his own the doctors said that they were going to remove his breathing tube.. it was successful! Oscar was able to maintain his breathing.. It was this day that his brother Cristian was visiting with Oscar playing messages from friends reminding him that we were all here praying and that we loved him! it was that moment Oscar started to cry.. Our Oscar was making his way back to us! The power of prayer is powerful!! We had tears of joy! Oscar has made huge milestones since gaining consciousness.. he is able to eat.. talk and sit up.. He will be transferred to a Pediatric Rehabilitation Center in Norfolk to learn how to feed himself, walk, get dressed and to gain the strength to get back to day to day living.. This fund is to help with medical bills and help his family to be by his side through this journey!
Any amount is appreciated and if you can’t donate at this time that is fine we ask that you please keep Oscar in your prayers. #oscarstrong6
