Oscar's Recovery Fund: Lifting Up a Valued Community Member

Donation protected
In late September, Oscar Campos, a beloved and long-time member of the elementary school’s facilities team, was severely injured on campus and had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Oscar fell from a significant height, suffering multiple serious injuries. Although he is receiving excellent medical care, has regained consciousness, and has recently been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit, his path to recovery will be long, requiring extensive rehabilitation over the coming months. Oscar has expressed a deep desire to return to work as soon as he possibly can, reflecting his commitment to his job and his loved ones.

Thankfully, Oscar’s medical insurance through Wildwood is helping to cover his immediate medical expenses, along with supplemental income during this difficult time. However, there will undoubtedly be additional costs that his insurance won’t cover, not to mention the lost income from his work as a licensed electrician, which he regularly performed on evenings and weekends to support his son and elderly mother. These financial burdens only add to the challenges his family now faces during his recovery.

In response, parents from the school community have set up this GoFundMe campaign to give our Wildwood friends, and anyone who feels moved to help, a way to support Oscar during this time. Over the years, Oscar’s smiling face and helpful presence have been a constant at countless school events and gatherings. He’s always been there for us, quietly ensuring that things run smoothly, and now we have the opportunity to give back to him in his moment of need. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a big difference as he focuses on healing.

Please keep in mind that donations are not tax-deductible and are gifts to Oscar, not to the school. Thank you so much for your generosity and for considering this chance to lift up a valued member of our community.

Additionally, the school staff put together a care package for Oscar’s son, and children in every classroom have made beautiful cards that were recently delivered to him in the hospital. He was extremely grateful for this outreach and said it meant the world to him. Your support, in any form—whether financial or heartfelt well-wishes—will make a difference. Please drop any notes of support off at the elementary front desk to be delivered to Oscar.

Thank you.
