Warrior Spirit survives Stage 4 Cancer: Metastatic Uveal Melanoma
I am fundraising for my beloved family friend Oscar Burciaga.
Last year, Oscar was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma, a rare form of cancer in his eye. In May, a week after his 46th birthday, he underwent surgery to remove his right eye in an attempt to catch the cancer before it spread to the rest of his body.
Unfortunately by the Fall tumors appeared in his liver, kidneys and bones reaching stage 4 Metastatic Uveal Melanoma. In December, he started treatment and spent the next three months in bed, near death, not having the use of his body or mind.
Thanks to his fighting spirit and his loving familia, Oscar has survived the worst of cancer and is now eating, gaining weight and walking with a walker on his own!
Oscar is being treated with Xgeva shots to help the bones and is receiving Immunotherapy which consists of Opdivo and Yervoy infusions.
Your donation will be strictly used for these life-saving treatments and the related costs. Thank you for your support on his healing journey!
