Help Oscar's Private Autism & ADHD Diagnosis

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Steph, Oscar's Auntie. Oscar is 11 years old and has undiagnosed additional needs that come with challenging behaviours. Oscar lives with his Mum, Dad and 2 younger brothers aged 2 and 5.

For around 3 years Oscar has been struggling mentally and physically. This relates to his mental health and being able to complete day-to-day activities as a child at his expected age. Over the 3 years, my sister has been advised on multiple occasions to call the emergency services on Oscar due to his challenging/dangerous behaviours as there was no support in place when originally raised with the GP. After 2 years, my sister had been referred to many services such as social services, CAHMS, CHRIS Team, the Croft and PLOT 2 days a week which is a school for neurodivergent children. Even though Oscar finds school challenging and they are not able to support his needs, the services have kept him within a mainstream school and there has been no referral for a SEN school which would support his needs.

Oscar has found it very difficult to engage with the different services due to his additional needs which has then led to him being discharged and receiving no further support. My sister has been in many meetings with the different services having been told the family is at crisis point however after these meetings, there has been little to no help and constant blame on the parents and gaslighting.

At this point, my sister has spoken again with the GP after Oscar was recently suspended at school due to his challenging behaviours and they have advised the best possible course of action is to go private for a diagnosis for ADHD/Austim. The minimum waiting time to be diagnosed via NHS is 2 years however as Oscar is at crisis point, this is not appropriate.

My sister is a stay at home Mum with the her 2 year old little boy and she is the rock to their family when it comes to dealing with my nephews and the challenges they experience day in, day out. My sisters partner is working and bringing in the money for the family however each month is a struggle financially due to the cost of living crisis.

I have set up this page to hopefully help my nephew to receive the support and treatment he deserves to ensure he can thrive with starting secondary school in September and building his future.

Any donation is appreciated and our family cannot thank you enough. We are trying to spread the awareness of children with additional needs/mental health problems not receiving the appropriate support and the struggles of day to day life.
