Let's help Oscar's family with his IVDD surgery

Hi everyone!

I have organized this fundraiser for a wonderful family and dog that needs your help! Here's his story..

My name is Oscar Brenner and I’m an 11 year old miniature dachshund. On September 21st my cries woke my mom from her sleep because I was in so much pain and couldn’t move. It was awful! She immediately saw that I had paralysis in all four of my legs and rushed me to the emergency vet. They told her that they believed I was suffering from Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) and sent us to an emergency surgical facility over an hour away to see a neurologist.

When we arrived everyone was super nice and they put me at the top of the list because of how bad my condition was. I have never seen my mom cry so hard but she was strong and loved on me every step of the way. An MRI showed the neurosurgeon that I had a very large herniated disc in my neck and she believed spinal surgery was my best chance of a full recovery. Once my mom and dad heard this, they didn’t hesitate to tell them to go for it even though financially it was going to cost more than they ever thought it would be.

I’m their baby though and they would do anything for me to get the chance to have a longer, happy life. I made it through surgery that day and am doing great in my recovery all ready. They say I probably won’t walk for a few weeks so my mom and dad will have to give me full-time care but they are just so happy I’m alive. I’m a fighter and one day soon I just know I’ll be running with my little brother and sister pups again. I’m a camping dog, the most easy-going fella you’ll ever meet and love to cuddle with my humans. No matter how hard this process is, we know it will all be worth it in the end!

My Auntie Shannon set up this GoFundMe to help out my mom and dad because she knows how much they love me and even though money is tight, would never ask for financial help themselves. She also knows that we are some of the most giving and kind people she has met & never hesitate to help another person, especially one in our position.
