Hi. I'm Misti. I never wanted to make another GoFundMe, especially for something like this. However, when a friend as good as Desiree asks for your help, you run to help them. Because when you get inducted into a club like this before the age of 40, you literally need all the help and support you can get.
Desiree is losing the love of her life. Her soul mate. If you don't believe in soul mates, then you obviously don't know the story of Desiree and her Oscar Orencio Ramirez. They grew up together in the desert of southern California. It was not love at first sight, as it rarely is at age 10. She hadn't been shot in the heart yet; however, Oscar did shoot her in the hand with his BB gun when she refused to get off of his wall. They hung out as teenagers and as we do after high school, they drifted apart and went their own ways to different parts of the state. When Desiree moved back to the Valley years later, she was taking classes and came across an old friend, and they started talking about "whatever happened to", and Oscar's name came up. She went home and found him on Facebook and friend requested him (which she never does) and they became inseparable. It wasn't a love at first sight kind of love, but a slow burn, starting at a very young age. Through good times and bad, they've always found their way back to one another. And that's how it's always been. Cancer sucks. Cancer takes away people who are supposed to be here until they are old, sitting on the porch, listening to music, relaxing with your family and enjoying each other's company.
Cancer is not only taking Oscar away from his soulmate, but also his 4 beautiful kids. Raina, Burnedette, Robert and Sereia. His older kids are losing a confidant and friend who can help guide them through the craziness of early adulthood. And his baby, who just started Kindergarten this year, is losing her daddy; the man who collected Labubu with her, watched show after show with her and made her feel so loved.
They have given him days to be with them. Days. Days to say goodbye to a man who loves them all so much. It happened more quickly than anyone ever expected, so nothing had been set aside or planned. It's expensive to die and it's expensive to take time off of work. Desiree has had to take time off of work to care for him and be there for him while hospice is coming in and out of their home. I am asking for your help to make this easier for my amazing friend and her family. The money will go to paying for cremation, medical costs, memorial cost to help with bills as she's had to take off to be with him. No one should ever have to go through this. Please help where you can. We love you, Desiree. RIP Oscar.
