My name is Charlie, and I’m fundraising for my son, Oscar, who has spent the last 6 months fighting something no child should ever have to face.

Oscar has been through intense treatment for osteosarcoma, including endless hospital stays, major surgery to remove his femur and replace it with a prosthetic, countless procedures, setbacks, and moments that required a level of bravery far beyond his years. And yet he has somehow kept his sense of humour, his cheeky personality, and his absolute love of football throughout it all.

Football has been the one constant that has kept him going on the hardest days, even after being told the heartbreaking news that he can never play for a team again. Collecting signed photos, football cards, team shirts, and watching goals has been his escape.

Recently, we received the most incredible news, after both surgeries on his leg and then lung, Oscar’s cancer has been completely removed. But the journey is far from over. He still has more chemotherapy to endure and months of physio sessions to help him gain confidence walking again.

We want to give him something to look forward to. Something big.

Something joyful.

Something that tells him that after everything he’s survived, the world still has magic in it.

Why We’re Asking for Help

Oscar’s biggest dream is to go to the 2026 World Cup. And not just any World Cup - a World Cup his team, Scotland, have made it to.

The reality is that the World Cup is expensive. Flights, hotels, tickets, and travel all add up quickly, especially after a year where our lives and finances have been completely turned upside down by treatment.

We want to take Oscar on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the sport he loves on the biggest stage in the world, something that celebrates how far he’s come and gives him memories that will last the rest of his life.

A small buffer for unexpected costs

We aren’t asking for luxury just the chance to let Oscar experience something incredible, something he will ever forget.

Oscar deserves to feel like the world has something amazing waiting for him after all the hospital rooms, pain, fear, and bravery he’s shown.
