Hi, my name is Oscar Bueno. I am a PhD student in Sociology at UTEP, a border-based researcher, musician, and cultural practitioner based in Juárez and El Paso.
I am raising funds to travel to Manchester this June, where I was selected to present my work at AFPP. My research seeks to bring experiences, questions, and reflections from the U.S.–Mexico border into international spaces of academic and cultural dialogue.
Unfortunately, I was unable to secure institutional funding to cover airfare and have already exhausted all other funding options. I have arranged lodging and will cover my personal expenses, so this campaign is focused solely on making the trip possible.
I am raising $2,000 USD to make this trip possible.
