Oscar Betancourth Funeral & Memorial
Donation protected
My name is Aaron Betancourth, and I am here to raise funds to provide a burial and funeral for my beloved father, Oscar Betancourth, who passed away at the age of 79 in Los Angeles. In the photo, I am the one sitting on my father's lap holding the telephone.
On January 16, I received a phone call from an unknown number. The man told me my dear father had passed away while being transported home from his dialysis treatment. It was the most heartbreaking call I could ever receive. The drivers brought his body inside and left him in his bed. I flew to LA, where my father is awaiting burial.
In the most respectful way, I am asking for family, friends, acquaintances, and our community to help with funeral expenses.
Please join us if you can to honor Oscar on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Viewing: 8:30am-12:30pm with rosary at 10:30am. Mass: 1:00pm with burial immediately following.

Remembering My Father’s Life
Oscar Betancourth was born October 19, 1944, in Valparaíso, Zacatecas, Mexico. He then later moved to Los Angeles at the age of 30. During his thirties he was diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes. His health began to decline through his 40s-50s. He had to undergo dialysis every other day for the remainder of his life. He would sit in his wheelchair on the porch for the van to pick him up at 4am. Every day was a fight for his life as the dialysis drained him little by little. It was hard to see him in and out of the hospital for the last 10 years.
Oscar was always in good spirits as his Catholic belief was most important to him. He sang in the church choir, which gave him a sense of peace.
