Oscar and Henry want their Grandma back!

The lovely lady you see above is my mom, Lois Nesbitt. She raised me as a single mom and is just an all-around kick-ass lady. For the past few years we have been super lucky to have her just a short drive away. She was Oscar's nanny for three years--taking him all around town to his extra appointments and therapies to knock out his apraxia (spoiler--it worked!) Our older son, Henry, has picked up Grandma's love of horror movies and sarcasm, which can be difficult to explain to teachers.
One day last September she began vomiting blood. She was rushed to the ER and received a blood transfusion immediately. Routine ER tests revealed Lois had untreated Chronic Myeloid Leukemia; furthermore, the ER physician noted they were some of the worst counts she'd ever witnessed. A few days later in ICU, we got a new surprise--doctors had discovered a Neuroendocrine Tumor in her small intestines.
The CML treatment consists of one pill she'll take the rest of her life. Simple right? Well, now she's fighting Congestive Heart Failure as a side effect of the chemo. She's also going to be in and out of surgeries with the intestinal tumor.
Why I'm asking for help--Lois is fortunate to have really good insurance. But once she pays her premium, rent, buys some food, and her many prescriptions, her money is gone. She lives on Social Security only. My husband and I are privileged to help her a great deal financially and other ways and will continue to make sacrifices to do so. We don't have a lot of family so it's just us fighting this together. Alissa, her daughter (that's me) is already completely out of her allotted sick/personal days as a teacher at Kingsbury High School. I would love to go with her to her next surgery and spend time with her, but every day I miss is completely unpaid.
