Dear family and friends, we are reaching out to you with heavy hearts. On Saturday, January 6, 2024, our loving Oscar aka Alfonso, passed away unexpectedly, at home with his family. We almost lost Alfonso 5 and 1/2 years ago to a terrible disease, cirrhosis of the liver. His recovery was extremely hard since being diagnosed. We celebrated his 5 years of sobriety in August 2023. Throughout the 5 and 1/2 years, he's had his share of ups and downs, in and out of the hospital, and episodes at home, all due to his illness. Alfonso's health issues were manageable for the most part, and we as a family were not prepared for such a sudden hardship. As his primary caregiver, I continue to work, while raising two young boys, but I need your help. We are all in shock and are devastated, but we know he is at peace now, with no more pain.

Alfonso was not only my husband, but a proud father of his sons. He had passions for cooking, music, sports, and of course, his family. We loved him and he loved us.

As many of you know, the costs incurred with death can be financially taxing on the immediate family. We're doing our best to pull our resources together to honor our Alfonso's final wishes. Our family is asking our friends and community for any monetary assistance that you may be able to contribute.
