Oscar, age 3
Donation protected
This fundraiser aims to provide financial support for Oscar's family, during what can only be described as any parents worst nightmare.
After a period of vomiting and being unwell, investigations revealed a significant tumour in Oscar's brain. A team of 30 neurosurgeon's and other professionals met to plan an operation and within days of being admitted to Birmingham Children's hospital, Oscar underwent a 9 hour operation to remove the tumour.
Oscar's surgery was a huge success with all of the tumour being removed. However due to the type of cancer he has, a CHORIOD PLEXUS CARCINOMA, along with a TP53 gene mutation, Oscar will have to undergo the most intensive chemotherapy there is. Oscar is facing a five month stay in hospital, during which time he is likely to become very sick. Days away from the hospital will be very few and far between. He will also need to have stem cell treatment which involves going under general anaesthetic a number of times.
Oscar's family have already spent a significant amount of money on fuel and food costs, taking shifts to be at his side whilst also caring for his twin brother Max at their family home in Hereford.
Relieving just a little of this additional financial strain is a small gesture which I hope will give them one less thing to worry about, so they can focus on getting their beautiful, strong little boy better.
