Osamu Nishiyama Memorial Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
Osamu "Sammy" Nishiyama devoted much of his life to his alma mater Chuo University, Japan. In his name, the scholarship will fund future generations of students interested in learning about American culture, spreading goodwill and supporting the Southern California alumni chapter. Contributions will be donated to the Chuo University Hakumonkai Southern California alumni chapter.
Chuo University was established as an English law school in 1885 by a team of 18 young attorneys led by Rokuichiro Masujima, initially as an academic research institution focused on the Anglo-American Common Law, and later evolved into an academic institution. It was officially renamed “Chuo University” in August of 1905 and since then has produced internationally renowned graduates in legal, academic, financial and civil service fields.
