Osahon 'Os' Osawe. Tracks Of Our Tears

Have you ever been around someone who made you laugh regardless of what was happening around you and even when they were trying to annoy you?

That was Os.

Have you ever made plans to go out and there was always that one person you would invite first?

That was Os. If they couldn't make it, you knew it wouldn't be the same without them!

Have you ever had the experience of being around someone and feeling like you'd known them since primary school?

That was Os.

Have you ever been through something that just didn't make sense and no matter how much you go through it in your head, it just doesn't feel real.

That's what we are feeling right now.

 

Os was taken from us suddenly in late May 2022 and we are still reeling from the shock of his unexpected and untimely passing. A man moving on to the next chapter of his life at just 31 years of age, whose son, Toby, had only recently celebrated his 1st birthday. A man, having just bought a house with his partner, Charlotte, with plans to marry her and take her to the Maldives for their honeymoon.

We remember the videos Os would share with us of Toby dancing with him to 'Tracks Of My Tears' by Smokey Robinson, the same song he would sing to Toby when he was just a bump on Charlotte's tummy. He would show us videos of him cradling Toby with that song as the soundtrack.

More so than what we have yet to come to terms with, we feel for Charlotte and Toby. We now feel the pain at the thought that Toby will never get to dance with his father again, that Charlotte has lost her soulmate.

Os was a selfless, hardworking and family-oriented man who, even in the days before his passing, was actively fundraising for charity and would have been competing in a triathlon to raise money for charity.

As we come to terms with our own loss, we have started this GoFundMe to help Charlotte and Toby as they face a very difficult period in their lives.
