Orvis Slack EVEN heros need saving!

My name is Tamara and I am here today to ask for your help. I am here to advocate for my friend Orvis Slack, because he is too humble to ask for help himself.

Orvis and I have been friends for many years.
I met Orvis while working as a Paramedic in Las Vegas. Orvis has shared many roles in my life; Manager, Supervisor, Partner, and FRIEND. He has worn many hats within our EMS( Emergency Management Services) community; EMT, Paramedic, manager, Owner, Production Medic, Volunteer, and Educator are just a few examples. Orvis is a first responder who has served many communities for 38 years and counting. He is the one who shows up when you call 911 for help. He is up when you are sleeping caring for your loved ones, and keeping us safe. But even Heros need saving!

Last week Orvis suffered a major heart attack and was admitted to Spring Valley Hospital, where he underwent a life-saving intervention.
Since then Orvis then he has been discharged home and attempting to recover.

Though Orvis may have survived a Heart Attack, he now is facing mounting medical bills and surviving our healthcare system barriers. One of those barriers is access to affordable care and medications. Orvis has been prescribed one medication costing as much as $500 a month! That is not including the other required medications, his Emergency Care charges, X-Rays, Cardiologist, Anesthesia, Critical Care room, and recovery care he will have to pay. Orvis is also facing three weeks of lost wages. How can anyone survive our healthcare system? This man (First Responder) needs his communities help. Even Heros need saving.

About Orvis:
Orvis has been serving his community since 1985. In 1995 he took his passion for helping people and started providing first aid and medical care in California for motion picture productions and the tv industry. Since then he moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where he trained future EMT's and Paramedics as well as taught ACLS and CPR to other healthcare providers and local community members. Orvis has even taught some of your kids at a local High School EMT program.

After 38 years of EMS, Orvis continues to be passionate about the EMS profession, and always strives to provide his community with quality care. He is not only an advocate for all his patients, but he strives to spark a love for our profession in his students and pushes them to become the best provider they can be.
Orvis is also a huge animal lover and adores his Cat! His heart is too big to be stopped by this stupid Heart Attack!

Today I am asking you to help our friend! EMT, Paramedic, Educator, Friend, Partner, and son. Even Heroes need saving. It is time his community gave back to Orvis for the many years he spent in the EMS trenches caring for us.
