Ortiz family Hurricane Maria Fund

Dear friends and family: 

 

As many of you are aware, our family in Puerto Rico have been affected by Hurricane Maria. By the grace of God they are all safe. You've all seen photos, videos, and online news articles covering the aftermath of the hurricane. This is the reality they are currently facing; the devastation is just unfathomable. Their world was literally turned upside down in a matter of hours. Despite this tragedy, the people on the island are resilient. They are making it a mission to bounce back and move forward.  

Due to the uninhabitable living conditions, (no power, running water, jobs, school, food and other critical resources for a duration of at least six months) we believe that we have been called to serve our family.  We have invited my mother, brother, his wife, and their 3 chdildren to come stay in our home for as long as they need to get back on their feet.  It was difficult for them to accept our invitation, as they would be traveling here with the bare minimum and leaving behind their beloved island, home, family, friends, and all that they know.  

We humbly ask for your help in preparing for their arrival.  Staci and I have set up this GoFundMe account in order to assist them in traveling here to Texas and getting them settled in.  We are in need of towels, blankets, pillows, toiletries, bed, clothing among other items.  We understand many others were affected by this and other recent events.  If you are unable to contribute monetarily, we just ask for your continued prayers.
