ORTHOPEDIC CHAIR AND LEG SUPPORT

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Janae McPhaul aka JaneyLaney

I was hit by a minivan this past January while walking across the street. The incident has had me in various situations ranging from crutches and occasionally a wheelchair. I wish I could give you guys full details with all pictures, but it is in an ongoing case. I have been unable to make the content as a content creator as much as I was able to before, which put me into many financial situations. I was extremely blessed to be able to be donated enough money in order to move to a better location this May. I had to move in with my dad because I was unable to take care of myself and my dog, Cooper by myself. The Microsoft backed platform, Mixer, was announced to be shut down in June. I was partnered on there, and when it came to a close, I and many others were displaced content and financial wise.

I currently create content in a regular fold-out chair (like chairs people use at poker tables at home). All the sitting that is needed in order for me to create content has been very taxing on my back and I periodically experience back and knee spams, as well as constant swelling in my left knee and foot.

My goal is to be able to get the Herman Miller x Logitech Gaming Chair because of all the orthopedic components it has. Not only does it help with spine alignment, but also the cooling properties. When I sit, my back is constantly on fire, and being able to relax while playing the game, recording, going live, or just working on the computer is nearly impossible.  I am also getting a support pillow and ottoman type of mechanism for my knee when I am sleeping and streaming. Unfortunately, almost a year later, and the very things that were causing me pain after the accident are not getting any better. These items would allow me to continue to make content, which is my only source of money at this point ( I used to be a full-time dog walker as well).

I create family-friendly content and strive to put Minecraft into the school curriculum in Florida. #BlackMinecraft (2018)  is an initiative MunchkinDoom and  I created in order to emphasize the much-needed conversation and actions that need to be taken when it comes to diversity and inclusion in the gaming space.

In 2019, I was sponsored by Mojang (owners of Minecraft) to go to MineCon and be interviewed about diversity and inclusion. The segment was released in March 2020 on their Official Minecraft Youtube Channel.

We raised over $14k in our own Juneteenth Celebration 2020 in order to help fund Colorful Coders, an organization that teaches coding to children of colour, the NAACP initiative Defunding of the Police, and to fund multiple content creators of colour days after the announcement of the dissolving of the Mixer platform.

I would love to continue to create content and do more for many communities, but I cannot do this to my fullest potential without having the proper tools to physically conduct business. I am currently awaiting the go-ahead to having back and knee surgery this winter.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who chooses to support this cause. It is very much appreciated and I hope that if we do not know each other know, we can meet each other in the future :)
