On Thursday, November 8th, I woke up in Paradise, California at 8 A.M. to get ready for class at CSU Chico. Less than forty minutes later, my father and I had to flee our home with no time to grab anything but our dogs, a case of water, and the clothes on our backs. We are beyond lucky to be alive today, but we need to begin rebuilding our lives. My father is the breadwinner for the household and my mother is having great difficulty navigating the hurdles present in applying for disability. Things were uncertain before, but the Camp Fire has put their retirement years in grave jeopardy. I'm asking for any help you feel you can provide - cash donations, clothing, furnishings, information and insights - everything is appreciated. The care and concern I have seen so far is moving and humbling, and I know that, with a little help, we will be able to find and maintain a household, grow from this harrowing experience, and eventually flourish. Thank you so much to all of our friends, friends of friends, and yet-to-be friends. We love you all very much.
